1. ¡Hola Nature!
A podcast about exploring the outdoors through interesting facts about nature, stories, poems, and fun characters. The creator’s goal is to inspire children to love Spanish and Nature. If you have kids that are beginning their Spanish Learning Journey or your simply a Bilingual Family looking for family activities to do together, this podcast would be perfect for you.
2. Eat Your Spanish
A new Spanish and Culture Podcast for families and children that teaches kids Spanish in a fun and interesting way. The structure of this podcast is to provide Bilingual instruction, they speak in English and discuss topics and then teach the words or phrases in Spanish. One of the episodes was about Greetings and Goodbyes, simple and repetitive phrases to help kids listen, speak, and practice. The hosts will also share songs with their listeners where they play the song three times and ask listeners to repeat. Very nicely done, check them out!
3. Yo Hablo Tu Hablas
This podcast is based on Spanish Lesson from España (Spain). Very informative with the content it provides. In one episode they talk about siestas, why they take siestas, what benefits siestas have, and so on. I wish the whole world would take Siestas during our day, no matter what we’re doing. Another episode may talk about types of students, learning Spanish, soccer, and other interesting topics. These episodes are very short and packed full of information to help Spanish Learners that are a bit more advanced in their listening skills. Very cool podcast!
4. Brains On! en Español
We could all use more Science in our lives, why not learn more about Science in Spanish? This is a great podcast to learn Science. A Scientific Podcast for kids or adults. Every week, a guest student will join one of the podcast hosts to answer interesting questions and share facts to their Spanish learning listeners. Some of the questions: “Do dogs know they are dogs? or Why do feet smell really bad sometimes?” They have songs, mystery sounds, and very interesting facts that they share with their audience. Each episode seems to last about half an hour. Perfect for some short or long rides.
5. Cuentos Encantados
Every week you will get an average of fifteen minutes of a fun story that will help your kids learn Spanish. This podcast encourages kids to use their imagination and to practice their listening skills. Parents, you can always follow up with comprehension questions about the story. Another idea is to use this podcast for your bedtime routine, where your kids can listen to a bedtime story before bed. Great for beginners and Bilingual families alike.
